Why Original and Authentic People Change the World (But Most Don't)

We live in a world made up of copy cats who find their value in other people. Everyone looks like everyone else.

We are running out of originals. And it’s time that you and I step up and show the world how it’s done.

We need people who are comfortable in their own skin, who like who they are. In short, we need people who know who they are.

When we know who we are, our self-worth isn’t tied to what people think about us. Our value isn’t in what we do or how we fit in. Our identity isn’t caught up in our feelings.

We need a generation of people who will model what authenticity looks like. We are craving real people. Our BS meter picks up people who are trying to fake it in an instant.

We need role models to follow.

You and I are those role models.

Why do you think the popularity of social justice brands, reality TV shows, and transparent corporations has skyrocketed? Because we are a generation that is starving for the truth, for something real.

It’s up to you and I to show the world that something real. It’s our job to tell the truth, and live the truth.

You need to like who you are. If you don’t, something has to change, because you are going to be a floating generality in a sea of faces until you change.

You need to be the thermostat, not the thermometer. Anyone can measure the temperature in a room; only a few will be able to change it.

You are the few. Now go.

Practical Next Steps

Who are you? Meditate on that question this week. Consult trusted friends and mentors in your life about it. Ask God a few questions about your identity.
